The Vehicle

1999 Nissan Pathfinder

What we did to the truck.
BF Goodrich AT/KO tires 30X9.5X15
Tinted Windows
Hi-lift Jack installed on front bumper
Stereo with a USB to charge devices and input music
One big white box on the top with a wind deflector custom made by Aaron
Drawer System in the rear for clothes and kitchen
Changed all of the fluids from bumper to bumper
New belts
New exhaust

Why a Nissan Pathfinder?  The price was right, Nissan parts are available everywhere, it was rated as the best handling truck in it's class for the year of vehicle we wanted, they are very reliable and continue to run well into 300k miles and it just looks good.

  1. These modifications are awesome! I also have a 1999 Pathfinder that I love taking out. My husband is always searching for Nissan parts online to make repairs and modifications. I will have to show him this post. Who knows, maybe he'll try to create a box to put on top of ours. How hard was it to build? Thanks for the inspiration!

Are you doing a overland trip also? Where are you going?

  2. Nice Pathfinder! We just bought a 98 and are loving it! Any more pix of the shelving system in the back? Any pix of the inside at all? I haven't seen another Pathfinder overlanding yet, I'd love to see more of what you've done!
Pix of our mods can be found here if you're interested: http://thisintentionallife.wordpress.com/the-journey-thus-far/gwendlyn/
